Lucian Vasilescu

Born in 1958 in the Romanian city of Ploiesti, Lucian Vasilescu is a poet and journalist, contributor to various literary journals, author of chronicles and columns, and a contributor of poems to English and French anthologies. He is currently editor of the cultural Ziarul de Duminică / The Sunday newspaper and he has published 10 volumes of poetry. In 2004 the volume of poetry confort îmbunătăţit 2/ improved comfort 2, written in collaboration with Ioan Es. Pop, was nominated for the Writers' Union of Romania awards. In 2010 he was awarded the Grand Prix Nichita Stănescu at the Deseşti Poetry Evenings.
